The Southern Poetry Anthology Vol. lll: Contemporary Appalachia

JOHNSON CITY - The Reece Museum, on the campus of East Tennessee State University, will host a poetry reading and book signing at 4:00 p.m. on April 14, 2011.  The readings come from The Southern Poetry Anthology, Vol. lll: Contemporary Appalachia, the first volume of the Southern Poetry Anthology series to collect poetry from an entire sub-region of the American South - the Southern Appalachia mountains.  This anthology brings together eighty poets, emerging and established, formal and experimental from the region.

Volume editor Jesse Graves teaches writing and literature classes at ETSU, where he is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Literature and Language.  In addition to Professor Graves, readers at the event will include fellow Volume lll poets Jane Hicks, Thomas Alan Holmes, Don Johnson, Ted Olson, and Rita Sims Quillen.

The event is sponsored by ETSU's Center for Appalachian Studies and Services and the Department of Literature and Language.  Refreshments will be served.
