Exhibits of Washington State, has a dozen hands-on activities that allow the visitor to try tools of treasure hunting and investigate treasures. Visitors can drive an ROV (remotely operated vehicle) underwater, crack a safe, learn their weight in gold, and experiment with real metal detectors to find buried treasure.
Seven thematic areas are covered. Visitors are invited to go on a treasure hunt for underwater treasure and learn how people hunt for buried treasure. Learn about treasures in the attic, family heirlooms and long-lost toys that may hold hidden value. A new form of "treasure hunting," geocaching is also explored. Consider the various ways that people find their way using maps, compasses, landmarks, and GPS.
